Don’t tell them it’s Maple Mustard Vinaigrette! So many people judge this delicious dressing by its name and don’t give it a chance… crowd pleaser!
Some people (who will go un-named) will hardly touch salad unless it has a sweet dressing. Try this dressing!
Maple Syrup is one of the more wholesome sweeteners we can use.
It’s great on bowls full of greens and I would imagine as sauce for meats and cooked veggies as well.
Oooh, how about on salmon?!
Maple Mustard Vinaigrette
Free of Dairy, Gluten, Nuts, Corn, Eggs, Soy
Makes approximately 1 cup. Enough for 2 large or 4 side salads.
*Use all organic and/or farm-raised ingredients.
4 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (with live culture “mother” not flavored kind)
1/4 cup Grade B Maple Syrup
2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil (I use mild flavored Egyptian variety)
1- 1/2 Table spoon stoneground prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon sea salt or himalayan salt
Combine ingredients in a small mason jar and shake well.
Body-type and Wellness Insights
This is a generally well-liked dressing. You’ll get a lot more “yum’s” than grumbles!
Earth-types naturally gravitate towards sweet flavors. Since this in a accompaniment to salad and encourages an Earth-type to eat what they need most i.e. vegetables, but especially light textured greens!; using a wholesome dressing like this is a perfect match!
Fire-types are also attracted to sweet flavors and their vigorous metabolisms can generally tolerate more. Although, because of this fast-burning digestive system Fire-types can become accustomed to eating rich foods and decadent deserts. This too is a great happy medium for the sweet-loving Fire-type.
Air-types are one of the few types who truly needs the sweet flavor. Naturally sweet, whole foods like many root vegetables and fruits indicate to the body that there are easy-to-use calories entering the body.
Water-types may adopt this as a new favorite. The naturally present curcumins in many prepared mustards from the turmeric are helpful for all Body-types!
